10-20TPD Soybean Oil Refinery Plant

Crude soybean oil generally refers to the extraction from the leaching or pressing process from soybean seed containing some impurities that are not suitable for food (or industrial use) of fats and oils, such as phospholipids, free fatty acids, water, pigments, odor substances, and other impurities can not be removed by simple filtration, these impurities in the edible oil will cause rancidity and deterioration of soybean oil, so the oil plant will also be used in the oil refinery equipment to further refine the soybean oil.

Pre-Refining (Crude Oil Production)

Cleaning & Crushing: Soybeans are cleaned, conditioned, and crushed into flakes to increase surface area.
Extraction: Oil is extracted from flakes using mechanical presses or, more commonly, solvent extraction (using hexane).

Crude Soybean Oil – Degumming – Deacidification – Decolorizating – Deodorizating – Soybean Oil

Degumming is to remove impurities, like phospholipid, gum, and protein, and other, by adding hot water or dilute acid, alkali, salt and other electrolyte solution into the crude soybean oil. As a result, the colloidal impurities absorb water, expand and coagulates, finally are separated from soybean oil.

Deacidification is to add alkali to neutralize the free fatty acids (FFAs) and lead to the formation of fatty acid salt (soap) and water. Then, some impurities are absorbed in soap and all sank and separated from the soybean oil.

Decolorizating is to adsorb the pigment and other impurities in crude soybean oil by adsorbents and remove the adsorbents and impurities through filtration to achieve the purpose of decolorization and purification.

Deodorizating is to remove the smelly substance from soybean oil. The most wide used method of deodorization for soybean oil refinery plant is vacuum deodorizating.

Operation instruction of soybean oil refinery plant:

1.Test crude oil,and test acid value and color,if you have laboratory, please do sample test.
2. Connect cooling water
3. Prepare bleaching clay,caustic soda(NaOH) and coal;
4. Connect electric power.
5. Check whether vacuum pump,air compressor,filter and heat conduction oil pump are ok.
6. When changing heat conduction oil,must heat it for 5 hours about 98℃.If there is no steam to spill from head tank,it’s ok to heat it to 280℃ slowly.

Is refined soybean oil healthy?

Refined soybean oil offers heart-healthy fats (polyunsaturated) and an FDA health claim for reducing heart disease risk, but its high omega-6 content means it should be balanced with omega-3 sources, as excess omega-6s can promote inflammation; it’s generally safe in moderation as part of a varied diet but may negatively impact gut health or metabolic function in very high amounts, especially in processed foods.
